In a blue moon, Google would appear in the news, flooding the blogs with articles that elicit both good and bad feedback. In the past weeks, Google has stated its new privacy policy, due in March and while people appeared to be fuming about it, they have learned to accept it. It will basically be an integration of the privacy policies for a lot of products and services. Of course, this has been made clear in the past:

“We may combine the information you submit under your account with information from other Google services or third parties in order to provide you with a better experience and to improve the quality of our services.”

In the recent past, they went even further and  freed themselves of a lot but similar policies and combined them into one. You have to remember that the revenue stream for Google would be through advertisement. So we should see how this pans out for PPC.

A very enticing benefit of the change would be that Google will be able to create more accurate information with regard to the customers we hope to target.

To add, the new changes will also give PPC Managers the opportuinity to have a larger market. A manner one would be able to accomplish this is through good interest category marketing for the display network. For instance, to add to Google getting information from the Google+ profile and putting cookies or the browser from the websites visited, Google may be able to allow us to see the videos the person watches or what he is going to through Google Calendar in the future.

So Google will be tracking the every move of the user, which would mean one’s targeted ads would find their way in advance to the user via Gmail, Google+ and other services. And while the ethics of this might be debatable as of now, it could serves as an opportunity for PPC advertisers to do “predictive advertising”. And it still sounds good, despite the controversial facet. So what do you think?
