It would be surprising how a lot of advertisers would dismiss YouTube as just being a brand building tool. The fact would be YouTube ads do convert, at times very cost effective. Whether you have an e-commerce site which asks for more sales plus a lead gen model, YouTube advertising would have to factor in surely in the marketing mix.
YouTube gives a range of video advertising options, with the best ones for the conversions being TrueView In-Search plus In-Display Video ads (which before had fallen under the YouTube Promoted Videos name).
When performed in the correct manner TrueView In-Search and In-Display videos could give a competitive CPA plus high return on ad spend. But while the set-up could be fairly straightforward, there would be a couple of tricks that may be easily made to dramatically increase one’s success.
Listed a simple tips to help you in acquiring the most from YouTube ad campaigns.
A. Selecting the Correct Video
Video length would play a large part in a campaign success. The best advice would be to leave 30-second videos for YouTube InStream ads. In the tests we have noticed longer videos work best for TrueView In-Search plus In-Display Video ads.
Videos 2-3 minutes plus longer have an advantage of really engaging viewers which would aid them to take action. You need not worry about being too long, as a video 20 minutes longer could be a success. You need to test different lengths plus keep an eye on YouTube Insight stats to make a track of the drop off times ensuring you have got much attention where it would matter the most.
B. Optimizing the Channel Page
Once you have uploaded the video, it would be time to tackle the channel page. Utilize the space to give more information regarding the brand, share links to key landing pages plus social media sites, and put related videos.
You should not be afraid to exaggerate. You just need to ensure it would be compelling and interesting for the audience. The entire “what it would be in it for me”mentality is notably significant on YouTube, where the attention spans would be shorter.
Now, for the improvement of conversion rates, the single valuable type of real estate on the channel page would be the Clickable Channel Banner. Not a lot of people have the realization of how effective this would turn out; even digital marketing-savvy brands do not pursue this.
Make a harnessing of the space to put up a banner having a clear call to action, which will then drive up clicks to the site (plus conversions) without you having to spend a single cent more. Even if viewers would not be fully engaged with the video, such a banner could become a free ad for increasing conversion chances.
C. Selecting the Correct Keywords
YouTube would be up top in the sales funnel, so gearing keywords which have relation to the discovery stage would function best. In setting up the ad groups, you need to be sure to go with broader keywords plus shorter keywords phrases.
A good thing here is that the average CPVs or Cost-Per-View would often be cheaper compared to average CPCs on search so the keywords are not to be prohibitively expensive for YouTube.
Utilize KeywordSpy for suggestions on keywords. Get keywords that are proven to function well and mix in more keywords that are suggestions from this keyword tool.
D. Make Effective Ads
In creating video ads, there would be key features that would make a tremendous difference for both click through rate plus conversion rate.
First, to make sure clickthrough rate is improved, you need to test the different video thumbnail image choices that Adwords could give when setting up the ad. A seemingly small change would yield extra clicks from the similar ad copy.
Next, to create a big impact for the conversion rate, you need to choose to have the video play on the channel page in place of the watch page. This is going to allow the channel banner call to action as well as authority building content to show up every time the ad would be clicked, putting up the chances of a conversion.
E. Making Effective Leveraging for Annotations
Annotations would be a good way to put in commentary or highlight information at any point for the video. The design would be flexible plus you could control where they come up and where they pop up and disappear.
For a purpose of conversion rate optimization, here are great ways to utilize annotations.
1) Make a showcasing of a call to action including a link to the sire at key points in the cideo. While the default setting would allow for links to be clickable only to other links inside YouTube, containing a simple URL for an external site could still do the trick. Utilize a vanity URL to make it a lot more memorable. Google also gives the option to make the external links clickable (External Annotations), but you would need to work with a Google rep to put it up, and there would be a minimum spend to qualify for such.
2) Put in clicks that are related to videos for the last few seconds of the video. As these videos would all be on YouTube, the links are to be automatically clickable plus a good way to keep people engaged to learn regarding you and your offer. Just make your video run 15 seconds longer with a white background plus layer the annotations through YouTube in a compelling design. They would be easy to edit while uploading, in case you want to switch videos.
Additional tip: Building Trust has to take place through Community Management
To view an added boost for conversions, making trust would be vital. The community of YouTube would thrive on comments plus inputs of viewers and responding to them would serve in enhancing authority plus trustworthiness of the brand.
Respond in a timely manner to questions plus comments and seek how it would affect increased engagement plus clicks to your site. It would not have to be very time consuming, you may set aside 20 minutes daily for YouTube community management plus remain effective.

Substandard content is dragging you down? When did you seriously last attend to your site?
Should you have been putting off a refresh of your website, you need to stop. Now is the time, and here is what you can do.
The Plan
You need to Place your head around your website. You have knowledge of what you want it to do for you, and that is to assist your business. Now you have to be particular about the goals the website would like to accomplish for the business and the visitors.
Make a definition of conversions: You may already have performed this at a point, but you could do this again from scratch. Put in the conversions you wish to be done on your site, plus compare the list to the site goals you had before. Probably they have changed. Maybe you lost track regarding something you had to be reminded of.
Should you not have a list of conversions as part of the web strategy from the past, now you do. Let it be a guide for your site design and content. Conversion samples include phone call, quote request, store locator and schedule an appointment.
Assign a priority: You need to take a list of site pages plus silos and give them a rank of importance to the business goals. On one spreadsheet, you need to put the goals a landing page or silo would be responsible for. Key sections of the site may be addressed at first. You may use the spreadsheet throughout the refresh project for managing the updates to keywords, body content, meta data plus calls to action. Make a column for each important elements on the spreadsheet too.
Put in deadlines: Should you have set dates for when you like particular pages or sections of the site reviewed, edited plus published, the project would be likely to move forward.
Go In Now
Go over the site: It would be so close to you, but it has been on autopilot for so long. It would be time to rekindle your knowledge with the site navigation, information, conversion paths plus search traffic. Ask your friends to read the pages. Other eyes will view things you won’t.
Perform a user test: Have someone known navigate the conversion path. Draw up a scene that took place at the office at the moment then ask the friend fo try navigate the solution. Are they hung up anywhere? Have them talk while they go through your site.
In a similar manner, you will specify an action they should attempt to accomplish, plus they will record their experience. Such information would be critical to your knowledge of how customers would experience the site.
Make an analysis of the current site performance: You need to check your analytics, whether it be Google Analytics or something else, plus figure out what people would be doing on the site. What keywords would be brining in traffic from Google? What pages would visitors be hanging around on and what pages would they be bouncing from? Make use of the data to inform priorities plus next steps.
Improved Page
At this moment you would have a comprehension of what users would be going to your site for, what they would be doing when they are there, plus anything they could be having trouble with regarding the site. From that you may make improvements. This would occur in two ways:
1) Making new content to address unanswered questions plus needs.
2) Updating the content so that it would be optimized for search plus the user experience.
Make a consideration of site architecture: This would be the point wherein you have made an inventory of pages for the site and could think whether the way the pages are linked would be the best way.
Would your site’s hierarchy be a match with the way a user would navigate the site?
Basically, every idea or category of the site would be a pillar of it. There is to be a main page for that topic, reachable via the main navigation. Depending on the size of the site or topic, there could be a group of pages that contain supporting content for that topic.
All the pages regarding a topic would link together as being appropriate to answer the question of a reader regarding the topic. This would be a bit technical, but would only link from a single silo to another from the initial landing pages; this would be carried out to maintain a concentrated theme in the section of the site, putting up chances of nice rankings because of subject relevance.
So to make it short, there are three things to reflect on when you consider the architecture of the site:
a. Navigation which would fit what users would be looking for when they go to your site.
b. Information structure as sturdy themes with supporting content.
c. Linking throughout the site in a manner maintaining the individual themes.
Having to go over a site’s architecture may be deemed an update, or the changes could be drastic that it would be like starting new. Whichever it may be, the architecture of the site would be its structure. It has to be strong and stable. From thereon you could position and build up the content.
Updating old content plus putting new content: Put out a spreadsheet. Place rows for new pages needed to be written under new architecture. For new pages, place keywords ensuring the page would support the theme. Put in content that would inform, engage, sell, serve, bring in info, plus keywords thoroughly researched from tools such as KeywordSpy, and a call to action to move them toward your intention.
For pages in existence, ensure that the assigned keywords would be apt, and ensure that they are used on the page. Use tools to analyze phrases on the page, and if it is clear what you want the visitor to do. Ensure the answer is yes before you check off the columns for the body content plus calls to action on the sheet.
A/B testing: All insight you have acquired from asking friends and testers in utilizing your site. You should acquire this for your new content as well. A/B would be testing by putting up two versions of the page plus getting information of how each takes place. Utilize tools to see what page version gets more of the actions you want.

For many people the meaning of the term “social media” is limited to the social networking and social bookmarking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tumbler, Reddit, Delicious, Stumble upon, etc. In reality social media is any form of media that allows interactive two-way communication.
Forums are social media. Different community sites are social media. Even your favorite reality shows become social media when they provide hot lines for real-time voting. Voting mechanism is the way for fans to provide live feedback. Without it any show is a form of a one-way communication.
However, when voting crosses the borders of the local auditory and is spread nation-wide, then a show all over sudden transforms from usual media event to a social media phenomenon.
Blogs also can be social media. Notice the “can”. Not all blogs can be considered social media. They have to provide the means for two-way communications to be included in the loop. Blog analog of the reality show voting mechanism is social sharing. It could (and should) be encouraged through a whole array of social sharing buttons.
Yet the main way to establish a two way communications with blog readers is blog comments. A few years ago they were mostly considered an after-thought of blog management. Now they are treated by search engines as strong social signals important for search rankings.
What’s more important, blog comments could increase your social reach. If you use one of the plug-in that allows users to comment from their Facebook profile, Twitter account or other social networking site, you gain multiple benefits. First, you make it easy for people to comment – that means more comments, more content, and higher interactivity. Second, when people comment through social networks, other people see these comments and may want to share their opinions as well.
Good social comments plug-in to consider are Intense Debate Comments, Discus Comment System, Real-time Comments and Facebook Comments for WordPress. There are plenty of others, but that should be enough to get you started.
However, if you won’t make it easy for people to comment, you will only have a few comments. And all the blog commenting power will be wasted.
