Updated Google Transparency Report
Jun 28th
Google has updated its report of transparency. It was launched in September last year, indicating the number of government requests for information about users and requests for Google to take down or censor the content and interactive graphics display traffic information Traffic to Google from all over the world.
The latest round of data covers the second half of 2010, but they have also updated the design and added more details. “We have shown some significant changes in the data and provided context about why these changes occurred during this reporting period,” says Google Matt Braithwaite. “Also We have made it easier for you to spot trends in the data yourself. For Example, we changed the format so it is easy now to see data country-by-country. We’re also clearly revealing the reasons why we’ve been asked to remove content—such as an allegation of defamation or hate speech.”
“For the first time, we are also showing that the percentage of data requests from users, we met in whole or in part,” says Braithwaite. “This gives a better idea of how we actually handle requests received by the government agencies, such as local and federal agencies to police data about users of our services and products.”
It is very interesting to look at which countries have increased their respective numbers of takedown requests.
Regarding takedown requests from Brazil, Google said, “During the Fall election period in Brazil, the number of court orders issued from electoral courts rose, ordering removal of content related to political campaigns. Additionally, one court ordered withdrawal of above 11,500 photos from Picasa. The lawsuit alleged that the photos contained pictures of pages from copyrighted books.”
Google also says that it saw a significant number of content removal requests from both Croatia and Denmark for the first time.
In the United States, six court orders have resulted in the elimination of 1,110 articles in Google Groups, related to defamation case.

Twitter promoted tweets in the main timeline
Jun 24th
Twitter is looking at some new types of advertising. The Financial Times cites “people with direct knowledge of its plans” as saying that Twitter searching at some bold new options.
New option would be injected into user’s main timeline tweets Promoted Tweets While plenty of people would no doubt freak out about this (not unlike the whole “dickbar” fiasco), I cannot say that it hit me a lot, because my Twitter use rarely relies on the main timeline, but by the use of lists . I am sure that I am hardly alone in this, even if the main timeline is sure to be the most important access point for most new users – a number that Twitter has been aggressively seeking to strengthen.
While there is the possibility of adding tweets from Twitter promoted to the main timeline, which is the central point of the article in FT, another piece caught my attention:
Other business option under discussion are deals and offers same in style to Groupon rival, that aggregate consumer demands for time-limited specific offers. It is also looking at introducing enhanced profile pages for brands and media management tools that allow advertisers are able to pre-programmed posts of 140 characters.
Ok, even more acurately as a part about a deals service that would rival Groupon. Why not? Everyone is doing it. It would only logical that Twitter, struggling in the revenue department compared to its peers, and has its location-sharing feature in Twitter Places that could help support such an endeavor. It also has user’s email addresses, which is generally the primary method handles services reach consumers.
If Twitter wants to play with the big boys (such as Facebook and Google), and it should, as it is set to become the main point for many iPhone and iPad users with the pending release of Apple iOS 5, it almost has to get into the Deals space. The fact that co-founders Jack Dorsey also runs the slot, also contribute to maintaining relationships with retailers.

Microsoft will improve the supply of stocks of the exchange by adding third-party later this year.

Kelley said the addition of Windows Phone 7 in-application stock was a sign sign that mobile advertising becomes a central element of the ecosystem display.
According to ExchangeWire founder Ciaran O’Kane, while Google’s advertising exchange “ticks the box on audience targeting” it will “never meets the contextual needs of some brands”. Jun 20th
Appearing on reality television can be hazardous. Contestants risk humiliation, heartbreak, and HPV for love and money. But who knew reporting on reality television could be so scary? These are the words of Reality Steve (Steve Carbone). The interview was not entirely about how to launch a successful blog, but as he also shared his success story with us, there were plenty of nuggets of wisdom that naturally came out of the conversation which help us to become a Successful Blogger.
• Ok to start with small:
Reality Steve started by sending emails to a few friends. The friends liked his work and started forwarding his emails to their friends. Social media has made it even easier to reach even more of your friends’ friends.
• Find an Interesting Subject area:
People have all kinds of interests. Some of them are already well-covered by bloggers, and others there is more leeway, because the web is saturated with bloggers in any particular subject, it doesn’t mean you can’t bring a unique.
• Gratify to a niche audience:
Choose a specific subject to blog about, you’re already catering to a niche audience to some extent. This niche audience is probably already reading the other bloggers who are writing about the same niche.
• Keep up with your niche religiously:
Reality Steve doesn’t blog about every single reality show, but the ones he focuses on, he keeps up with fanatically. That keeps them coming back.

Optimization of FB Page By SEO
Jun 17th
There is no denying that Face book is the 800 pound gorilla of social media marketing. A reported 600 million people visit Face book every month. Creating a Face book page for your company is a great way to connect with your customers, but don’t let it stop there. Your Face book profile can rank in the search engines right alongside your website, so don’t forget to optimize it for SEO.
Few Tips to optimize Face book page By SEO
• A custom URL:
Face book URLs used to be a string of random numbers. But in June 2009, Face book allowed users to customize their URL for a Personalized Face book Username. If your company hasn’t already done so, be sure to claim your own custom URL. It is a good place to incorporate targeted keywords. Experts included SEO and SEM Firm into the username because those are keywords I’m hoping to rank well for.
• content snippets:
Snippets are a good place to go after related keywords and provide an introduction to the content. Getting visitors away from your Face book page and closer to your actual company site brings them one step closer to becoming a customer. It’s a great way to build inbound links and help drive traffic.
• Implement the Info tab:
Wall is not the only thing you should be focusing on. Your Info tab is a great place to provide a company description and incorporate links to your main site, your blog and any other social networking profiles you may have. Think of the Description section as one giant Meta tag. It’s another great place to go after targeted keywords. The Info tab also allows you to publish your company address. This can help with your local SEO efforts.

SEO-Make Your Links Natural
Jun 16th
“SEO is never done”, this statement we snatch from the developers which means SEO requires consistent actions and a continuing approach. One of the most difficult aspects of proposing a website statement of work is the “bolt on” cost of high quality, professional SEO implantation and the on-going expense.
We shouldn’t quit our SEO activities just because it looks like that our goals are being accomplished. It’s not unusual for a site to slip backwards once they stop their SEO. Just because we’ve achieved the ranking position we wanted, that doesn’t mean someone else can’t take it away from you! The best defense is a good offense and SEO is the best offense.
The actual hard work is an ongoing plan of core SEO disciplines around keyword research, quality linking execution, social media network building and ongoing site optimization.
SEO is not a set-it-and-forget-it tool. The Internet never ends. Every day there is more content being created than we already used.

$100bn IPO Expected for Facebook in a Year
Jun 15th
It is said that, Facebook is going to public in the first quarter of 2012 at the evaluation of atleast $100bn.
IPO in 2012 has been hoaxed for some time: a section of the US 1934 Securities and Exchange Act stipulates that companies with more than 500 shareholders are needed to become a public company. Facebook is expected over the border this year.
According to CNBC, some sources estimate the company value will reach at least $100bn at that time.
It also reported that Facebook is pushing an IPO to increase employee benefit after the social network put control on employee’s capability to sell shares privately. It’s thought Facebook is worried some employees may consider leaving organization to be able to sell their shares.
In six month Facebook’s current touted value will be double. In January, Goldman Sachs invested $1bn in social network, valuing the company at around 50 billion U.S. dollars.
